~ Rhine, 30.04.2025 ~

I took a boatride up a section of the Rhine, starting in Bonn.

I discovered many buildings and locations along the river I never knew were there because the usual routes never took me along those stretches, nor along the opposite bank.

Unfortunately I was a little too focused on the buildings along the promenade and didn't think to go to the back of the ship to take a picture of Bonn's skyline until it had already shrunken into the distance.

There was a cargo barge the tour boat ended up 'racing' the whole journey. It was slightly slower, but whenever the boat caught up or passed it, it drocked to admit new passengers and fell behind again.

After some time, the boat stopped at Bad Godesberg

The next stop was Königswinter on the other side.

The route led past the Drachenfels...

...and past the beautiful train station of Rolandseck and the distasteful Arp Museum spoiling the scene...

At Oberwinter, passed the Moby Dick, which got a new paintjob this year.

The next stop was at Unkel.

From there, the boat rounded the long curve past the various mansions and (fake) castles near Remagen.
